One of the most popular questions I receive via email is something along the lines of:
“Hi—I’m a XX year old working in the ____________ industry and I’m getting sick of my job and burnt out. I started experimenting with trading but I’m wondering, with all the professionals out there can I really make money trading and actually learn to trade?”

I can’t even begin to explain how many of these emails I’ve received over the years. My response to these emails is always very similar, and in this post I want to outline some of the things that can help you actually become a trader and dare I say it—yes—make trading seem easy.

To get started, yes, anyone can become a trader these days. It requires less capital than in the past and nearly everyone has a computer with a good internet connection. But this is very similar to asking the question “Can I become a doctor…lawyer…construction worker…car mechanic…etc”. Personally, I could never be a doctor because I don’t do well with blood, I could never be a car mechanic because every time I tried to change my oil it became a day long project, I could never be a…well you get the point. At the same time, I think I would make a pretty good lawyer, I’m fairly handy so I might do well with construction, and there are a lot of other professions out there that I would do just fine at as well. So the same logic applies to trading—if you have a good amount of self discipline, are patient, are responsible, and have the drive and passion to become a trader then there’s a good chance you’ll be able to become a trader. It’s really impossible to answer this question without really getting to know the person asking it, so I’ll let you do the self assessment to determine if you have the traits necessary to become a trader.

The other part of this question deals with making money once you determine that you believe you have the ability to become a trader. So many people get sucked into the websites designed by professional marketers offering a get rich overnight trading system. Been there, done that, and let’s just say I didn’t get rich quick off any of them—but I think everyone experiments with these at some point in time. Trading is not easy. I know traders who I have been trading for decades and they still don’t find trading easy. But a lot of this really depends on the methods you are using. If you’re using an ultra complex method that only works under certain conditions, then yes trading is going to be extremely difficult. If you’re using a method that focuses on core market principles and is well structured (such as the ones in the Price Action Trading Course) then trading can be much easier. And please notice that I say EASIER and not EASY. Trading will never be easy, but once you gain the knowledge you need and get some experience then many traders will find that each and every day trading becomes easier and easier.
I was actually speaking the other day with a trader who took the course and who I worked with that said each and every single day trading does become easier for him and he finds himself making better decisions and making more money every day. I received a message from another trader who took our course and he mentioned that in the last year, while it has been a roller coaster ride, he just wrapped up his 1 year anniversary of when he started trading and his account is up 17%. This is what should be happening when you gain the knowledge you need and have the discipline to apply this knowledge to the markets.

So if you find that you are either considering getting started with trading or are currently trading but having a really tough time, I firmly believe that you don’t have the right knowledge to help make your trading become easier and more natural. If you’re in this situation, I am a firm believer that our Advanced Price Action Trading Course may be just what you need to help you along the way—and I know for a fact from our reviews page that it has helped hundreds of traders make their trading easier and easier each and every day.
